HEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!

The scariest thing so far about reading Stephen King's "The Shining"
is the picture of Stephen King on the inside of the back sleeve:

That man has crazy-eyes.

As you can see from his pose, he appears to be trying to sleep
but his eye-lids are too terrified to even go near his irises,
so instead they retreat back into his skull, only to find
themselves closer to his warped mind.

I imagine it is then that they realise
they're stuck in a soul-shattering cluster-fuck of horror.

And let's not forget his lips. Look at them. LOOK AT THEM.

Are they smiling? Is that what he thinks a smile looks like?
Or did the photographer catch him in the middle
of a catastrophic stroke?

I suppose we'll never know.
Good book, though.
