Albeit, not the same kind of dream as Martin Luther King's
But a dream all the same.
It was about one of my favourite authors, Raymond Chandler.
It turns out in the 50s he wrote ads for Hoover.
He was a dap-hand at it too, but was unhappy in advertising
and thankfully moved on to write novels.
Everyone was singing their praises about his most famous poster,
which according to them still stands up today as
"a classic piece of marketing genius".
"a classic piece of marketing genius".
I then realised I was dreaming and thought:
"Wow! I should remember this ad, so when I wake up
I'll have a classic piece of marketing genius in my portfolio..."
A classic piece of 1950s sexism.
It turns out that some dreams, like Mr. Luther-King's,
make the cross-over into reality a lot more easily than others.
Mine clearly do not.
